Teachers and school librarians, want to introduce your K-3 students to the wonders of microscopic animal adaptations? Consider scheduling an author book reading!
SMALL MATTERS Virtual Presentations: I begin my 20-minute presentation with a slideshow comparing light microscopes vs. scanning electron microscopes (SEMs), and I end with a reading of SMALL MATTERS plus some bonus fun-facts. I’m happy to stay 5-10 minutes longer to answer questions. For now, this offer is for U.S. schools and K-3 classrooms only, on the Zoom platform (I'll need screen-sharing permission)—and the first presentation is complimentary. SMALL MATTERS In-Person Presentations (local to the San Francisco Bay Area): I begin my 30-minute presentation with a slideshow comparing light microscopes vs. scanning electron microscopes (SEMs), move on to with a reading of SMALL MATTERS plus some bonus fun-facts, and end with an iridescence demonstration. I’m happy to stay 5-10 minutes longer to answer questions. This offer is for small K-3 classroom groups only (<30 students). A slide projector and the necessary connector (for a USB-C port) must be provided by the school. I will request a small honorarium, depending on the scope of the presentation(s). Pricing is flexible. If necessary, I may be able to offer a complimentary presentation in conjunction with book sales. Contact me to discuss terms. ********** Interested? "Heather’s presentation to our kindergarten students was engaging, informative, and perfectly age-appropriate. She appealed to visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners. Heather has a wonderful way of connecting with the students as she takes them through her book, Small Matters, which showcases many familiar animals. We all learned something new!"
